Kindergarten Newsletter 02/25/08

Friday, February 29th, is “Leap Day”. Why are leap years needed? Leap years are needed so that the calendar is in alignment with the earth's motion around the sun.

Lent: Pray, Fast, Give Alms

During this Lenten season (as always) we are challenged to give of our very selves to those in need.

We have a collection jar at the door for donations to the American Cancer Society.

We will gather as a school family in the auditorium each Friday in Lent to pray and meditate on the Stations of the Cross.

The kindergartners are asked to bring a lunch for the St. Vincent de Paul Society each Friday in Lent.

This Week

The letter of the week is Ii.

The sight word is to.

In math we will continue to work with dimes, pennies, nickels.

We will discuss God’s gifts of the earth as we learn about plants.

March Begins Saturday
This means that the February homework calendar is due Monday, March 3rd. You will find the March homework calendar in this folder.

Thursday, February 28th, is a minimum day.
There is no school Friday, February 29th, as staff go to the L.A. Congress.
