Kindergarten Newsletter 02/12/08

Welcome back! I hope you enjoyed the three-day weekend.

Thursday, February 14th, is Valentine’s Day. Students and staff are allowed to wear free dress. All are encouraged to wear red or pink. Students will share a Valentine snack and are allowed to distribute Valentine cards. As I mentioned in last week’s newsletter, there are 18 students in our class. If your child intends to distribute valentines, I advise all students to print their names in the “from” space and leave the “to” space blank to facilitate the distribution of cards.
Thank you Mrs. Abbate for organizing the Valentine snacks.

Topics and Themes
Valentine's Day
The letter of the week is
Aa.
The word of the week is
it.
We will learn a little about heart health.
We will read about George Washington.

Help Wanted
A big
“Thank You!” goes to Mrs. Abbate for finding information on the history of Merced. We are in need of information on OLM School at the time it was built (1927). Let me know if you have any information or are willing to do a little research on the history of our school in the 1920’s.

Send a Spoon
If you send yogurt, pudding, etc. in your child’s snack or lunch please include a spoon. Your child can keep it in his or her lunch kit.

Lenten Act of Kindness
Kindergartners are asked to bring lunches for the St. Vincent de Paul Society each Friday morning in Lent. It is a small yet meaningful act of kindness.

Please pray for peace and healing.

God bless you and have a great week!
